The Langford Family run a short-term Vehicle Hire Company, which operates approximately 160 vehicles, from Small Cars and Minibuses, right through to 38 Tonne Artic Units. All of the Vehicles are available with a Driver (except Minibuses), the rates for which are available on our Rates Page. 

Although vehicles can be collected outside of these hours with prior consultation.

Who Are We ?

J B Langford & Co. Ltd incorporates the following companies, West Midlands Hire & Haulage, Gordon Motor Services &  Poppy Graphix, all three businesses reside on one purpose built site in the West Midlands. J B Langford & Co. Ltd was formed in 1973 by John Langford, originally based in Bridge Street South, Smethwick and in April 1997 re-located to a purpose built site in Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, just a short distance from West Bromwich Albion Football Club.

Whilst John Langford remains within the company in his present position as Chairman and       

Mrs Ann Langford remains as Company Secretary, the day to day running of the company was handed over to their siblings in November 1999. 

Their eldest son Roy Langford became Managing Director and Roger Langford became Service Director. Sadly, Roger passed away suddenly in December 2010 after over 34 years of working together within the Company. He leaves behind a Work Ethos we are all proud of, a set of values here which he always based himself upon, of total dedication, hard work and constant care.

The Work Shop today is Managed by Andrew Ridley who has the experience of working here alongside Roger for over 32 years. Ian Langford runs the Body Shop Repairs Department, whilst Daughter Ann Thomas works within the Reception as the Managing Director's Personal Assistant.

The vast majority of employees have been with the company as 'man and boy' and have many years of experience in their particular field, which enables the company to give a very friendly and homely image as well as being able to keep up with their motto which appears throughout the company portfolio :-
